A sign is not a JPEG.

Most shops show you a flat render and hope. We test every circuit for 24 hours, mock the fixture at the real mounting height, and check the color under the exact lighting your block gets after dark. What you approve in the shop is what your customers see at night.

How we work

Four steps. No surprises.

You always know what happens next, who is doing it, and what it costs before it starts.

  1. 01

    Discover

We look at the building, the setback, the lighting and the budget. If a sign needs a permit, we tell you before you pay for artwork — not after.

  2. 02

    Design

You see the sign on your own building, in daylight and at night, before anything is cut. Two rounds of revisions are included.

  3. 03

    Fabricate

Letters, faces, frames and vinyl are produced in our Bronx shop. Every circuit is tested for 24 hours before it leaves the building.

  4. 04

    Install

Our own crew handles permits, electrical coordination, rigging and cleanup. We do not subcontract the install and we do not leave exposed wiring.

Born in the Bronx

We are not a sign broker with a Midtown address.

NewGen started in the South Bronx with one goal: give every business — no matter the size — the kind of signage that makes people stop and look twice. We watched too many good corner businesses disappear behind cheap, forgettable graphics.

Today the shop at 2450 3rd Ave handles the whole job: design, fabrication and installation. The fabricator who cuts your letters is the same person who answers when you call about them. From the corner laundromat to the twenty-van fleet, every project gets the same standard — because in this borough, your sign is your reputation.

What clients say

The sign worked.

NewGen totally transformed our storefront. The illuminated sign they put up is eye-catching — customers tell us all the time they found us because they saw the sign. Professional from start to finish.
Carlos Reyes Owner, South Bronx Laundromat
They wrapped our vans and the quality is outstanding. Tight edges, no bubbles, perfect color. Our fleet looks like a million bucks now. We have gotten new clients just from people seeing our trucks in the street.
David Martinez Owner, Bronx Moving & Delivery
Fast turnaround, great price, and the design was exactly what I had in mind. They did our window graphics and banners for our grand opening — everything was ready on time. I will be using New Gen for all our locations.

Straight answers

Cost, permits and timing.

The three questions every business owner asks before they call. Answered with real numbers.

How much does a storefront sign cost in the Bronx?

It depends on size, lighting, materials and what the wall needs — which is why we quote from photos of your actual storefront instead of publishing a price list. Cabinet signs and blade signs sit at the lower end; fabricated channel letters with permits and electrical at the higher end. Send a photo and you get one firm number, free, usually within a business day.

Do I need a permit for my sign in New York City?

Most exterior signs in NYC need a DOB sign permit, and illuminated or projecting signs almost always do. Small non-illuminated signs may be exempt depending on size and zoning. We review your address, check the zoning and handle the filing and inspection, so you are not the one standing in line at the borough office.

How long does a sign take from approval to installation?

A printed cabinet sign is typically 2 to 3 weeks. Fabricated channel letters run 3 to 5 weeks including permits and electrical. Vehicle wraps are usually 1 to 2 days in the shop once artwork is approved. Awnings take 2 to 4 weeks depending on frame fabrication. We give you a dated schedule before you pay a deposit.

Do you install outside the Bronx?

Yes. We install across all five boroughs, northern New Jersey and lower Fairfield County in Connecticut. Our crew handles Manhattan Landmarks and DOB requirements, NJ permits and CT town sign regulations. Same fabrication shop, same crew, same warranty.

Can you repair a sign you did not build?

Yes, and a large part of our service work is exactly that. We diagnose dead LED modules, failed drivers, cracked faces, water intrusion and storm damage on signs from other fabricators. If the frame is sound we can usually retrofit new LED and a new face for a fraction of a replacement.
